Vision

The Perennial Institute is an experimental education project exploring creativity through the lens of plants. We believe that plants are our overlooked teachers, and by spending time with them, listening to them, and learning from them new forms of knowledge emerge. We playfully and critically explore this knowledge through embodied, feminine and intuitive approaches. We embrace slowness to best cultivate alternative ground for creative practitioners to unlearn, re-root, imagine and thrive.

Based in Berlin, we follow seasonal creative cues including a period of dormancy from January to April each year until better cultural conditions present themselves in spring and summer. We are always delighted by new opportunities to collaborate and expand our explorations into gardens, kitchens, galleries, institutions and homes around the world.
